Kiwanis Care Centre has adopted the IDEA: Ethical Decision Community Care Access Centre Community Care Ethics Toolkit.
The purpose of an ethics framework is a step-by-step, fair process to help guide staff in working through ethical issues encountered in delivery of healthcare.
The use of the framework can help individuals, teams or communities to work through an ethical issue. It can help a team work together by introducing a shared systemic process, facilitating effective communication, developing a shared language, and building a common understanding of how to approach difficult ethical issues.
Ethics Committee is in place to provide direction for ethical practice, education and research at KCC. The committee provides a forum for the discussion of ethical issues.
