Our recreation staff and volunteers are dedicated to offering activities and entertainment for our residents to take part in and enjoy. We also respect our residents’ right to dignity and privacy when they wish it.
Our programs are designed to promote wellness and improve quality of life while encouraging independence and choice. Regardless of functional abilities, residents are given the opportunity to engage in meaningful activities that increase social engagement, provide stimulation and purpose, and allow them to feel valued.
Led by a Therapeutic Recreation Team Leader who coordinates the daily recreation activities and special events at the Care Centre, activity workers and volunteers carry out a full array of programs with residents in all levels of care.
We have a wide variety of programs because we know our residents have varying interests. A few of our activities include:
Trivia + word games
Cards + games
Social dinners + teas
Pets n’ friends- Animal therapy
Sensory stimulation massages + nail care
Bingo + many more
We also offer on a regular basis, outings which encourage our residents to get out in the community for shopping, community visits, and tours. A customized bus for residents is used for these outings. Our monthly calendar and activity notices are posted throughout the facility for ease of access.
