New Vaccination Requirements Effective 12 October 2021
KIWANIS CARE CENTRE
NEW VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS EFFECTIVE TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2021
On Tuesday, October 5, 2021 Dr. Bonnie Henry announced that all visitors to Long Term Care must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by October 12, 2021 or will be unable to enter the building or visit. (Fully vaccinated is defined as having received both doses of an approved vaccine and at least 7 days following the 2nd dose.) All Kiwanis Care Centre visitors will be required to show their vaccine card/passport as proof of full immunization at the reception desk during screening at each visit. This is a Provincial Health Officer directive, there will be no exceptions.
This requirement will include all children 12 years old and over. There is no requirement for children under 12 years old.
We ask that all family members share this information with any potential visitors, extended family, friends, etc., to ensure that everyone has the necessary documents and information before arriving for a visit.
We appreciate your cooperation and patience and look forward to continuing to welcome our family and friends for regular visits.
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] or by phone at (604)525-6471 Extension 333.

“Those who are not fully vaccinated will not be able to visit in health-care settings as we go into this time of increased respiratory illness and challenges,” provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said at a Tuesday press conference.
“We will of course have exceptions for certain situations, like palliative and end-of-life care,” Henry said.
